  • Am I committed long term?

    No the minimum term is one month and no maxim needs to be stipulated

  • Do I have to sign a lease?

    No, we try to keep things simple. All we do is ask for you to abide by the terms of our straightforward storage license.

  • Do I need a padlock?

    No, we provide a heavy duty padlock and key as part of your rental there is addition space on the door for an extra padlock if you wish

  • Do you do removals?

    No, but we have a number of very handy “Men in Vans” providing a very good service whoa are always at hand

  • Do you take a deposit?

    No, but we do take the first month rent up front

  • How can I pay for my Lock & Load Unit?

    For our pay as you store customers we ask everyone to pay by direct debit. This is the most cost effective way for us and enables us to offer such great rates. For customers who pay six months or more in advance we can take payment by card over the phone or by BACS. Unfortunately we are not able to take cash

  • How do I book a Lock & Load Storage Unit?

    Either by booking online or calling up for a quote.

    Please remember to have the following to hand:

    • ID (passport of driving licence)
    • Credit or debit card
    • Bank details (sort code & account number) for the direct debit
  • How does a 6 or 12 month package work?

    If you wish to pay in installments of 6 or 12 months there is a significant saving to you for this. We don't take a deposit but we always bill in advance. You will pay your first calendar month payment on booking and then by direct debit going forward. Having paid your first month we will collect monthly in advance on the first working day of each calendar month.  You are sent a full breakdown of this on your booking in email.

  • How much notice do I need to give to have a Lock & Load Unit?

    As long as we have a Lock & Load unit available you can move in straight away. Just book online or give us a call. As we sometimes run completely full we recommend that you give us a few days’ notice so as not to be disappointed.

  • Is there anything I can’t store?

    Your Lock & Load Unit is your space but we ask customer not to store the following:

    • Explosives or anything flammable
    • Food or other perishable items
    • Damp or wet items (make sure freezers are fully defrosted!) and washing machines / dishwasher are fully drained
    • Anything liable to leak oil or other items which will stain or damage the unit.
    • Animals & plants
  • What can I store in a Lock & Load Unit?

    Our units are great for storing household furniture, surplus stock, document archives or virtually anything else which you need space for.

  • What is the shortest time I can store for?

    1 calendar month

  • What sizes are your units?

    All units are 20ft x 8 ft x 8 ft containers 

  • When can I access my Lock & Load Unit?

    365 days /year 6.00 am – 6.00 pm

  • Where are you located?

    Newton Lodge, between villages of Clifton Reynes & Newton Blossomville, 3 miles from Olney

  • Why choose Lock & Load Self Storage?

  • Will my belongings be insured?

    Most home insurance policies only cover goods in your home; we don’t currently offer insurance for contents insurance. However the site has comprehensive public liability insurance to protect those coming and going on site.

  • Will my Lock & Load Unit be safe and secure?

    We understand how important your belongings are to you and take security seriously. Our sites are security fenced with monitored CCTV and recorded gate opening systems. Each container is made out of corteen steel and come with a high grade padlock protected by a steel shroud. If you wish to put an additional padlock on then you can do.

  • Will my Lock & Load Unit suffer from damp?

    Our containers which are designed to sit on the open deck of ships. In fact most things we store would already have spent the first few months of their lives in one being transported into the country. The containers themselves are completely waterproof.

    What we do recommend is that customers try to avoid bringing moisture into the unit. There are small vents to prevent condensation and aid air flow through the unit however it will take some time to escape from the unit. With that in mind please ensure freezers are defrosted and washing machines and dishwashers are fully drained down.
